FAQ
You need to be trained in the relevant work and then you need to be assessed and on successful completion you can make application to the relevant work health and safety regulator.
This is done by developing a training plan with either Prosafe or your employer. This includes the way your training will be done, then your workplace experience and finally assessment will occur.
The assessment has 2-3 parts, which can be delivered progressively. Prosafe can conduct the written assessment after the formal training has been received and the practical assessment is then undertaken after the workplace experience.
You will be required to provide evidence of your identity (usually a driver's licence) to your assessor.
Once you have satisfactorily completed your assessment with Prosafe we will give you a Statement of Attainment for the Unit of Competency you have completed. Successful applicants will receive a Candidate Assessment Summary form from the accredited assessor and a statement of attainment from the RTO before completing an online application for Queensland HRW Licence . This MUST be done within 60 days of successfully completing the practical assessment.
You need to make application through the regulator approved process within the required timeframe or your competency may not be recognised.
Please feel free to contact Prosafe's Training Co-ordinator on 0407 591 765, who can advise you further.

The Work Health and Safety Act does not require the operator of earthmoving equipment to hold a licence. This legislation does, however, require that employers provide any information, training, instruction or supervision that is necessary to protect all persons from risks to their health and safety arising from work carried out as part of the business.
This is best demonstrated by training and assessment in the relevant work, via an accredited course delivered by a registered training organisation, or through a verification of competency process.
