This unit specifies the outcomes required to operate a builder’s hoist in which personnel, goods, and/or materials may be hoisted, and which comprises a car, structure, machinery, or other equipment associated with the hoist, and which may be a cantilever hoist, a tower hoist or a multiple winch operation.

What You Will Learn
In the Licence to Operate a Personnel and Materials Hoist course, participants will acquire vital skills for the safe and effective operation of hoisting equipment. The training covers essential aspects such as equipment handling, safety protocols, load management, and compliance with industry regulations. Through practical experiences and simulations, participants will develop the expertise needed to secure a license and operate personnel and materials hoists confidently, ensuring a secure and compliant approach to vertical transportation.

Entry Requirements
Participants must:
- Have at least an intermediate level of numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
- Have access to a suitable workplace to complete the on-the-job training component.
Delivery Details
This course is delivered over 3 days using a combination of face-to-face classroom and practical activity sessions. 6.30am – 3.00pm.
Class size: 8 students.
Course Outcomes
On successful completion of all relevant assessments (theory and practical) participants will receive a Statement of Attainment in completion of Licence to operate a personnel and materials hoist – CPCCLHS3001.
Successful completion of this training product is dependent on the learner meeting all course requirements. Completion does not guarantee a specific employment outcome, as this is influenced by factors outside the RTO's control.
